Should I switch schools or stay for my last semesters?

I’m a junior and a really social person, but I’m honestly tired of the environment I’m around. Pretty much everyone in my area is from the same circles, and I want to experience more of a fun SoCal high school life: new friend groups, football games, school spirit, hanging out, etc. I switched to online school and now I basically only have two friends, who are in relationships and have kind of abandoned me (not completely).

I have about 3 semesters left, and I’m debating whether I should transfer to a school in a nicer area and sacrifice a 20–30 minute commute for a completely different environment. I feel like I could make friends pretty easily, but I’m scared I’m making this decision impulsively. The biggest thing holding me back is that my whole family graduated from my current school and I always imagined graduating with my closest friends… but are they even really my friends anymore?

Would you transfer or just stick it out?
