Do you think homeschooling is a bad idea? Why or why not ?

I guess my question is really two questions. lol

Let me start off by saying, I don’t have ANY plans to homeschool. I just have concerns about the school system. The reason being is that I keep hearing about this literacy crisis and how behind students are academically. So if that’s true.. is it the school system? Is it the parents? Is it technology?

My goal as a parent is no screens. I refuse to let my child be an iPad kid. I read to my baby every day. I try my hardest to interact with my child and let him explore.

I just worry that school has changed so much since we were in school. Everything I hear seems to be that the school curriculum has been dumbed down because students aren’t where they should be. Is this true?

Which leads me to my next question about homeschooling. I’ve seen people talking about how far homeschooling resources have become. What do you guys think?

Any advice and guidance would be great.
