Question/context
I have been in a bit of a flare with Behçet’s for a few weeks. Several weeks ago, I was beginning a run when my stomach felt a little off. All of a sudden, I was incontinent of loose stool. While it was absolutely humiliating, I assumed it was due to running. But since then I’ve started to become incontinent with urine. I can feel myself go but have no control over it.
I brushed it off the first few times, but now it is starting to become untenable with life. It has happened twice today, full bladder emptying, change everything, shower required. Once Saturday and Sunday. Before the last few days it only happened maybe once a week, new to the last few weeks.
I work as a carer part time and am a full time healthcare student. Term starts in two weeks. I’m really starting to worry.
I already have a GP appointment scheduled this Friday due to the flare and having ongoing fever (normal for me and Behcets, just concern about duration).
My questions:
-
Is this likely to be related to Behcets? If so, is it a sign of neuro Behcets? I’m really worried and think I’ve delayed seeking help in case it could be. I know it’s not logical, but I’m scared to go down that path.
I think knowing might help. -
Is this appropriate to bring up in the appointment on Friday or should I ask for a separate appointment?
