Joining Sfu Research labs as a Langara student? Is that possible or do I have to transfer First?

Guys is that possible or am I a little dumb? I did get accepted to SFU but i couldn't go this year because of lack of funding(I'm broke) and it is a little far from where i live. I plan to transfer to SFU(or UBC but that's less likely) and wanna have some research experience before I do. Can I join an SFU research lab? I'm currently taking Psych 217 and 218? Do I wait till i finish these courses? Is it even possible?
