Immersive view?

Hello, I am thinking of getting a steam frame and had a question. When I first got into FPV drones, people were telling me how immersive it was, that it felt like flying, but after purchasing the DJI goggles 3, I was disappointing that "immersive" meant I was just staring at a virtual screen in front of me, rather than it "surrounding" me (if that makes sense). I apologize for not knowing the term, but the view I expected was that I was actually looking out from the drone's perspective with my own eyes.

Is the steam frame going to be the same as the goggles 3? or does it actually make you feel like you're in a digital world? Again, sorry, this might be an noob question but I have zero experience in VR headsets except for the DJI goggles.
