I tried smoking cigarettes
Disclaimer and warning: smoking is highly addictive and I don't recommend this action and there are other less harmful ways to administer nicotine such as gum and patches. Informative anecdotal purposes only.
I've been suffering from what I believe to be PSSD for several months now despite quitting 2 antidepressants cold turkey. All the classics symptoms: anhedonia, brain fog, you name it. The hopelessness and general boredom caused by the possibility that this was a long term condition prompted me to start smoking, because when you feel like that you kinda just think "why not, it's not like things can get any worse".
It has only been a week but I have seen at least a 50% improvement of symptoms, most notably the brain fog. I'm almost certain it's because of the nicotine firing up my dopamine. Has anyone else experienced anything similar and is it sustainable?
