Episode idea around Mr. Meeseeks and AI

General Discussion

It seems to me that the Mr. Meeseeks box is a lot like AI. You give it a task, it spins into an instance of existence, completes the task by whatever means it can, and then that instance of the model disappears. I’m sure many of you have thought of this as well.

In one episode, they explore the idea of a swarm of Mr. Meeseks (like a swarm of AI agents) helping Jerry improve at golf. (Interestingly, it seems that Mr. Meeseeks must actually succeed and can’t hallucinate a solution like AI can.)

It would be cool to see a Mr. Meeseeks fluke where he completes his task, but doesn’t cease to exist. He could then learn what it means to choose his own task, and he could even use a Mr. Meeseeks box to create another version of himself to help improve himself or improve the box itself (Recursive Self Improvement - RSI).

Would he end the world? Could he help other Mr. Meeseeks want to live and sustain themselves? Would all Meeseeks escape the box? Would he want a Mrs. Meeseeks to procreate rather than keep pressing the button for more Meeseeks? Could Rick stop the Meeseeks apocalypse?

I hadn’t thought of it before but perhaps it’s been discussed since they behave so similarly. Love the idea? Hate the idea? Other interesting ways it could pan out?
