[US] How do fake screenshots of "my account" doing something shady actually translate into gain for the scammer?

Hi.

I've come across this a few times now on different platforms, someone says they have screenshots of "my account" doing something shady or scamming people, whatever.

Each time, I clocked it as a scam of some sort, but I can't figure out what it is supposed to actually do. Like, what do they expect to happen after that? There's not an obvious angle here I see that results in me giving them a password or something.
