How much has poor eating habits affected my health?
Hi Everyone,
I know that obviously you can't give me an exact answer as I probably need to go and see a doctor. I was however hoping for some general information or advice.
I have led an unhealthy life for as long as I can remember. I'm 6'2, Male, 39 years old and I turn 40 in January.
I have had mental health struggles for a long time and I have only now got to the point where I have some stability and want to achieve things in life that I previously never could.
I've kicked my smoking habbit, I don't drink and I am eating a lot healthier than I ever was. I have really had to educate myself.
I'm just so paranoid though that the damage has already been done, I was never really obese, naturally quite slim but my binge eating and choice of food was terrible since a young child.
Copious amounts of chocolate daily, tub of Ben and Jerry's 3 times a week. Pizza, mcdonalds, junk food. Consistently for 20 years. And a sedentary lifestyle although my general fitness does seem to be ok.
As I said before, I am doing so much better now but is it too late? Will my arteries be blocked beyond repair that I just drop dead before I'm 45?
I would like to go to the doctors and request a sort of health check but I don't really know what to ask for regarding blood work. Any and all help would be much appreciated.
