Are you letting your kids use AI chatbots? How do you keep them safe?

I’m curious how other parents are handling this.

AI chatbots are becoming part of kids’ everyday lives — for homework, questions, creativity, entertainment, etc. But as a parent, I think there’s a difficult balance between letting kids benefit from AI and making sure they don’t accidentally get inappropriate, harmful, or simply age-inappropriate responses.

Do you:

  • Let your child use ChatGPT or other AI chatbots freely?
  • Check what they’re asking?
  • Use parental controls?
  • Set rules about what they can and cannot ask?
  • Or simply avoid AI for now?

I’m actually working on RaiKid, a parental-control solution specifically designed around kids using AI.

The idea is not to spy on every conversation, but to let parents set rules for how AI should interact with their child, adapt responses to the child’s age, and receive alerts when something concerning happens.

We’re still improving it, so I’d genuinely love to hear from parents:

What would make you feel comfortable letting your child use AI?

What’s the biggest concern you have right now?
