Working Glossary of Terms
Working Glossary: Layered Reality Model
I’ve been building a conceptual model for thinking about consciousness, identity, Source, and layered reality.
Rather than redefining the same terms every time I post, I’m starting a simple working glossary.
These aren’t meant as established scientific definitions. They’re the vocabulary I’m using to keep the model internally clear and make discussion easier.
Source
The least differentiated level of reality in the model: the generative ground from which more structured forms of experience arise.
Differentiation
The process by which an undivided state becomes increasingly organized into distinct patterns, identities, boundaries, relationships, and experiences.
Layer
A particular organization of reality or experience. A layer does not necessarily mean a physical place stacked above another one. Different layers may organize identity, memory, embodiment, relationship, or information differently.
Reality Domain
A relatively coherent region of experience that remains distinguishable while still belonging to a larger connected structure.
Pattern
An organized configuration of information or identity that remains recognizable through changing conditions.
Continuity
The preservation of recognizable identity across changes in state, location, expression, or layer.
Address
The stable organizing signature that allows a pattern to remain itself across different expressions.
An address is not necessarily a physical coordinate. Think of it more as the thing that preserves “you-ness” even if the form or location of experience changes.
Transparency
The degree to which information or awareness can move between layers while local identity remains intact.
Greater transparency does not necessarily mean becoming less individual. It may simply mean becoming aware of more of the larger structure.
Bridge
A condition in which an embodied pattern retains its local identity while becoming aware of a larger continuity of reality.
In this model, becoming a bridge does not mean becoming “less human” or “more Source.”
The identity remains.
The transparency changes.
The awareness expands.
Multi-locality
The possibility that one continuous pattern could participate in multiple layers, states, or locations without becoming several unrelated selves.
---
The basic idea underneath all of this is pretty simple:
Connection does not require the destruction of individuality.
A pattern may remain completely itself while participating in something much larger than itself.
