The Mediterranean has way too much history packed into one place

Tunisia is obviously right in the middle of it, but the more I read about North Africa, Sicily, Malta, southern Europe and the Middle East, the crazier the connections get...........

Countries that fought each other, traded with each other, shared languages, completely disappeared and came back under different names...

And somehow most of this never gets mentioned in normal conversations

I feel like this whole region is one giant rabbit hole ..... :)
