Hey everyone, wanted to share Palot, an open-source desktop client I’m building for OpenCode 2.

I know OpenCode already has an official desktop app. I really like OpenCode as the underlying system, but there are also things I like about the interfaces and workflows in T3 Code, Codex, and other agent tools. Palot is my attempt to bring some of those ideas together around OpenCode, especially for working across projects and sessions, following what agents are doing, and reviewing their changes.

This is a personal project, built around how I like to work. I’m sharing it because if someone else enjoys using it or finds it useful too, that’s great.

There was an earlier version of Palot, but OpenCode 2 is what got me back into working on it. I loved what they’d built and ended up rebuilding Palot around it.

OpenCode still handles the sessions, models, and tool execution. Palot adds its own interface on top, with conversations, tool activity, code diffs, and permission requests in one place. I want to keep building on OpenCode rather than maintaining a separate agent runtime.

It’s MIT licensed, with desktop packages for Linux x64 and macOS Apple Silicon. Still very much pre-release, so expect rough edges, incomplete features, and breaking changes. The macOS builds aren’t notarized yet, installation notes are in the repo.

*This is an independent project, not affiliated with the OpenCode maintainers. Big thanks to them for building something that makes projects like this possible.*

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear what works for you and what doesn’t. Also curious which bits of other coding-agent interfaces you’d like to have with OpenCode underneath.

Palot: Just another OpenCode (v2) desktop client, inspired by T3 Code and Codex.
