The 1925 Jazz Four: Louis Armstrong, Johnny Dodds & Hociel Thomas - "I've Stopped My Man" (2026 manual restoration).
Today we have just released a manual restoration of the Nov 11, 1925 session. This is a rare one: a hard-hitting quintet session with Louis Armstrong on cornet, Johnny Dodds on clarinet, and Hociel Thomas on vocals.
We’ve used a 4-track hybrid model in Audacity to move this off the original mono master into a wide Super Stereo soundstage. No AI filters, just manual work to let these giants breathe.
