Seeking discounts before changing utilities providers

I have finally gotten around to powerswitch. And it looks like my annual powerbill would be about $250 less per year if I switched. Plus another $120 for the temporary deal on switching.

Its kind of a hassle switching so I was contemplating calling my current provider to ask for a discounted rate. Thing is, the broadband at the new provider would be the same amount per month. Its the power costs which would be lower. That seems difficult to seek a discount on. So It would be better if I could just get an ongoing $10 a month discount on broadband.

Is this worth doing these days? Or is it a waste of time calling them?
