Why are people so secretive about sharing mixtapes? (RANT)

I understand being more reluctant about sharing ones with extreme content/gore/snuff, but I've seen people gatekeeping copies or links of the Retard-o-Tron trilogy or the Crazy Dave o Japan-O-Rama on purpose. Or even worse, saying to your face, "You have to buy it like I did." Where? In the blogspot that has been defunct since 2011? The majority of the mixtapes were made in the mid 2000s, and they were not well archived, so a beginner in this genre is going to have a looooooot of problems trying to see anything.

I don't think that it is too hard to share links in the DM or upload a part of your collection to Archive. Sorry if I look like a whiner, but I'm just tired of trying dead end after dead end trying to find a funny video to see with my friends. I don't think I'm asking too much, no?
