Hey everyone, I'm Gubjub!

I'm a game developer with 10 years in AAA and a love for lighthearted competition that gives friends and family an excuse to connect, even if it's only for five minutes a day.

That's why I made **SPELLBANK**, a daily competitive word game where the 26 letters of the alphabet are randomized into 13 pairs to form the gauntlet. Each player must progress through the gauntlet finding their best word for each letter pair, bank the points and then compare your results.

I'm going to level with you, the reason I made **SPELLBANK** is deeply personal.

About a year ago I had a sudden neurological emergency that required immediate surgery which threated my ability to use my lower body.

Recovery meant months of spending most of my day in bed. But every morning, my phone lit up with the same little ritual from friends and family, some of which I had lost contact with over the years.

Score. Results. Trash Talk. My community rallied around me by playing and sharing a plethora of daily webgames.

Those five or so minutes interacting with different groups of people from my life gave me something normal to look forward to during an incredibly difficult time.

A little over a year later, I'm walking on my own two feet again but those pings are still coming in hot every morning.

**SPELLBANK** is my attempt to add one more game to that ritual.

We've been playing it with friends and family, and now I'm ready to find out how it holds up when the people playing don't know me.

I'd rather not explain much more here because part of what I'm testing is whether the game teaches itself to players effectively.

So if you've got a few minutes, give today's **SPELLBANK** a shot then come back and share your score!
