Osawa Plastic AC vs. NIGHT by Noble AC vs. NIGHT Classic AC Ocarina?
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m looking to buy my first good-quality ocarina and I’m currently considering these three:
- Osawa Plastic AC
- NIGHT by Noble AC
- NIGHT Classic AC
I’m having a hard time deciding between them.
I’ve heard that the NIGHT by Noble requires relatively low breath pressure, and I’ve seen some videos where the higher notes can sound a little squeaky or unstable. On the other hand, I’ve watched a few demos of the Osawa Plastic, and personally I didn’t find the higher notes as clear or pleasant-sounding.
I’m also interested in the NIGHT Classic, but there are very few videos/reviews of it online. I’ve only found one or two demos, so it’s difficult for me to judge how it actually performs compared to the other two.
I’m a beginner to intermediate player, but I want an ocarina that I can keep using for years. I really don’t want to eventually think, “I should have bought the other one.” 😅
So, if you have experience with any of these, which one would you personally choose for long-term use, and why?
I’m especially interested in:
- High-note clarity, stability and tone quality
I’m also open to other recommendations if you think there’s a better option.
A friend of mine is currently in Tokyo, so he can buy one for me there. 🎵
Thanks!
