How can nihilism be moral?

They say that apparently nihilism is a good thing since it allows you to live your own life and be free from social judgement. A serial killer or a child rap1st can use "nothing matters anyway" excuse to remove the responsibility from the harm they've done to their victims. Does that make them justified? Absolutely not. By that point, why not just pretend that there really is objective morality?
