Anyone Out There On The Medicare Bridge Program? What is Your Story?

I was 30BMI+ with uncontrolled blood pressure -often in the 180's despite taking meds for a couple years. When I learned of the upcoming July 1 2026 Bridge Program I made a May doctor appointment. I qualified, - or so we thought. I was so excited to begin, that I began paying out of pocket thru Lilly Direct (I didn't know about compounding). July my doctor submitted the application and I was devastated to be rejected - the reason was that even though I had been prescribed two hypertension meds, I needed to be taking both at the SAME TIME - without results! So, my doctor added the original med to my 2nd. When later tests showed my hypertension was still dangerously high despite taking two concurrently, my doctor submitted a new application. She also added test results showing peripheral vascular disease in my right leg. VOILA! Last month I was approved. Between paying out of pocket, taking the double meds, and loosing 24lbs, my recent test was 140/55 - lowest ever in decades. Heading in the right direction! My doctor says that we will monitor results and wean me off the meds as results improve.
