Trying to start a pet grooming business on a house zoned for commercial, but its use is residential. What should I do first?
I was looking at purchasing a small house that is zoned for commercial, but its use is residential. I need to get the house changed to commercial use.
I talked to the zoning officials and 1st thing he said was needed is a wheelchair access ramp. I could have a contractor give me a design of the ramp and how it will fit. The front door also needed to be 3 feet wide.
There was a list of other requirements I needed to do, but I would start with a ramp/door.
Before I do any of the legwork for this, would it be in my best interest to have a house inspector look over the house? It was built in the 1930s, so lord knows I could do all this work only to have the inspector say this house is a loss.
