Every time I play Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines I forget about the sewer mission

Bro, listen. I love this game. I love it. But I always overlook this mission until I actually get to it. You know exactly what I'm talking about: the fucking sewer mission.

What in the fuck were they thinking, dog? Seriously. I will go as far as to say you could completely skip this part. I know the vanilla version was supposedly even worse, and I know the Uncut/Plus Patch version is shorter, but goddamn, bro. It's still garbage.

And playing Tremere makes it even worse. Blood magic, bro. My whole build is built around blood magic, and then I get down there and there's barely any fucking blood. Now I'm having to reroute my skills and put points into Firearms just because the game is forcing me to have a conventional weapon. It's like, what the fuck am I supposed to do with my build down here?

That's what bothers me so much. Bloodlines is at its best when your character build actually matters. You can talk your way through shit, hack, sneak, lockpick, investigate, use your Disciplines, or approach things differently. Then you get to the Warrens and it's basically, “Okay, walk through the fucking sewer and kill everything.”

Every time I play this game, I completely forget about this section until I get there, and then the memories come flooding back like, oh god.

That's how much I love the rest of the game. I genuinely forget about the one part I can't stand until I'm forced to play it again.

And honestly, I think the game would've been fine without this mission entirely. Maybe it would've been a little shorter, but I don't think Bloodlines loses anything by cutting the Warrens down to the bare minimum. The fact that the Plus Patch literally gives you a way to skip a huge portion of it says a lot.

The game is so fucking good, and then you get to the sewers and it's like somebody made an entirely different game for 45 minutes.
