Betamethasone injections for lumbar pain
Hello!
I'm a 34yo female with lumbar and leg pain, due to some tears in my L5-S1 discs. So far I've been in moderate pain (5/10) if I don't go to work or have a normal day (no cooking or cleaning), but I don't have that luxury and I need to get back to work. When I tried to go back to life, the pain will get worse (7-8/10) and this while taking Meloxicam 7.5 mg in the morning and Cyclobenzaprine 5mg at night.
I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina, there you just go to the pharmacy to get this anti-inflammatory injection, Cronocorteroid (betamethasone), and the nurse at the pharmacy would applied it in your glutes haha.
Do you know if such a thing exists here? And if yes, have you tried it with success? I'm going to ask for this when I see my doctor, but I'm curious if it even is a thing here (Seattle, WA, US). I don't want to do an epidural injection yet, and this is a nice middle point. (The injection last for 3 weeks).
Thank you!
