So this is something ive been wanting to get some feels on for a while and with Shadow VS Mewtwo on the way i felt it was goid timing, and given one of the biggest complaints I've seen regarding the Indie Era is the overuse of returners, which i personally share the opinion of because I have always been a advocate for returners to an extent, but there are many these last 2 years especially that people have drawn the line of weather or not some did deserve to or if something didn't need to come back. So my question is moreso what should the criteria be when considering brining a past combatant back.

For me my criteria's are essentially "If a character brings anything new and different to talk about to warrant it and if they have ant solid matchup to come back with" which i think anyone can agree to both points, then theres also how many times you bring them back cause most would think third times a charm but with batman and shadow we now have both 4 times. Personally I prefer leaving it at 3 to an extent unless the 4th time has merit to it (Especially since Wonder Woman is one of my most wanted returners).

But to get to the chase and leave this convo to yall, where do yall think a certain criteria lies when potentially brining back a character?

Ill even add a bonus and give yall a list of most of my most wanted returning characters in the image above.

What Should be the Criteria for a Character to Return?
