Which TV character gets so much hate to the point it’s taken too far?

Whenever I visit the subreddits for the Netflix series; Sex Education. It blows my mind how much fans are so quick to hate Isaac, the guy in the wheelchair who lived in the same trailer park as Maeve! Every chance they get, they will always point out how much he sucks and don’t bother to look at the dimensional aspects regarding his character!

I agree with a lot of people that invading Maeve’s phone, and deleting a voicemail that Otis left for her was a line he shouldn’t have crossed and is an action that prevented the two leads in becoming a couple sooner. But he wasn’t a monster, just a flawed human that developed a connection with a girl he had a crush on, and from his perspective believed he was protecting her from getting hurt. It doesn’t excuse what he did, but it doesn’t mean that he should necessarily be considered “evil” or whatever.

He also seemed like he had more of his shit together, whenever it came to understanding what he valued and what he was looking for in a romantic partner in a way Otis and Maeve didn’t. Rather than letting himself get mixed into the toxic cycle they were in once Isaac realized that Maeve wasn’t absolutely sure about being with him, he chose to let her go so that she could finally explore what she needed to with Otis!
