Being with an unromantic man

I love my man. He’s attentive, emotionally intelligent, kind, etc he has all the good qualities. We go on dates often, he pays for everything. The only thing is that’s he’s never purchased anything for me!
It’s going on 3 years and I’ve never received a “gift” from him. We have shared experiences trips etc but nothing has ever been for just me, it’s always an us thing.
Am I wrong for being bothered by this? Our anniversary has just passed and we went on a date, spent the day together but I kinda wish he did more in celebrating me. Am I overreacting? I brought this up to him and he says him spending time with me and taking me out is his way of showing love. Idk I’m not complaining, just a bit bothered.
