Pluged the charger of my ASUS TUF into power- started smelling like electrical fire burning

As the title says. Ive never had this issue prior to this. I havent been on my laptop in a while because of work and decided I want to play some minecraft. I pluged its charger in the wall and was clearing up my desk a little for the laptop when I started smelling a burning, almost tingling smell. I plugged it out and almost instantly the smell was weaker. I touched the wall plug and my charger and nothing seemed to be warm out of the ordinary. Again, I’ve never had trouble with this specific wall plug next to my workdesk or with my laptops charger, so what could be the cause? Should I try plugging my laptop elsewhere or just leave it for now?
