You don’t need a game to know how IT goes (but it’s more fun!)
Something breaks. Everything depends on it. And somehow, it’s on you. The IT pro.
Alerts come out of nowhere. System failures are on the brink. The pressure stacks. And before you even get a second to think…something else goes wrong.
Welcome to Ace of Uptime
Eaton’s new card game is all about real problems happening real fast, needing real attention and real wit. And if you really think about it, we could use the word ‘real’ more…but we digress.
See, the villains here are ones you’ve encountered before…
- The Rack Wrecker overloads systems with cable chaos and uneven power demands.
- Chad the AI Hype Beast pushes AI to the edge, then leaves you to figure it all out.
- The Rework Reaper replaces automation with manual work and kills your routine (and your spirit).
- The Legacy Leech drains time and performance from outdated systems you can’t quite replace.
And you must use your IT smarts and problem-solving prowess to save the day.
Of course, it all still lands on you.
And you already know what you’re up against.
Outages, silent malfunctions that pop up out of nowhere, heat trapped in a cramped server room, constant tickets. And the slow burn: aging infrastructure, tight budgets, the things no one fixes until it’s too late.
These problems always resurface (sometimes in the form of Server Room Rex), and every time, you’re the one counted on to fix it.
So, we did something about it.
We consulted with IT pros like you in real life and online to personify your greatest nemeses.
- The ones buried in cramped, overheated backroom closets.
- The ones tangled in racks that haven’t been touched in years.
- The ones built on manual doldrums that never went away.
And then we built a card game around beating them.
First, let’s be honest. You’ve already been playing this card game, conquering these agents of downtime chaos every day.
The difference? This one’s more fun than helping Carl with the printer…again. (Carl, you can add paper yourself.) But be aware, they’re out there, even looking to sabotage your cubicles.
This is Ace of Uptime
This card game is built around real IT scenarios (we've even got a red stapler). The types of experiences we've all had. The ones that plague every server room, data center and even those lonely bathroom wall-mount server racks.
And this isn't a casual retire-on-goat-farm vibes. It's more of that 3am call to reboot the system...manually.
Pick your hero and battle against legacy systems, shady saboteurs and the ever-present scariest 4 words in the office..."there's no coffee left."
Rest assured, the solution is in your hands, but you must pick which cards to play to defeat it.
Each card represents a move:
- the smart fix
- the risky shortcut
- the thing that should work
- and the thing someone definitely suggested in a message board
Some cards are hits. Some are misses. Some…are the reason you’re in this situation in the first place.
So, you have to know your stuff if you’re going to get past level 1. And PSA, we let people try out this game internally...aaaaaand our non-IT teams have a whole new level of appreciation for you. Draw your own conclusions.

Here’s the fun part (beyond taking down Chad the AI Hype Beast, of course)...
Every time you play, it’s different.
Different villains.
Different cards.
Different outcomes.
Kind of like your IT job, just slightly more unhinged.
Want to make it real?
You may be able to order the physical deck for you and your team to check out during lunch...as people line up for IT help (we kid, of course you'd take care of all the tickets you have first, RIGHT?!).
Bring it to your team. Run through scenarios together. Settle debates the fun way. Or prove once and for all that your solution would’ve worked.
But definitely don’t bring a green felt table to work. That’s a whole different game.
Fair warning
You’ll recognize more of this than you want to. Some IT PTSD may happen ASAP by EOD.
But wait, there's more...
Seriously, you'll be able to unlock new scenarios that are coming soon...
Ready to play?
Step in.
Take your best shot.
Then run it back.
