I didn't expect people to want an update, but I had my meeting with HR a little while ago, so I figured I'd share what came out of it.

I was informed that this was the second time he had been reported to HR by a female coworker for similar behavior (surprise). The meeting went great, and they were very apologetic about the situation. He has been removed from the ongoing project that I'm involved in, so we won't be working on the same projects going forward. I was also informed that the incident would be formally documented and that he would receive a warning regarding professional boundaries. They made it clear that any further incidents could result in additional disciplinary action.

The first messages he sent before HR contacted him I assume. It's hard to explain without the context of our work, but his questions made no sense. And given the timing and circumstances, especially considering that we had never communicated with each other before this, it felt as he was once again trying to push an interaction.

He also sent me this apology message afterward, which felt very non-genuine, but I digress. Hopefully, this is the end of it. Thanks for all the supportive comments!
