How Long?

My LO went on hospice 8 days ago. She has stage 4 breast cancer, developed gastroparesis 2 months ago, and made the decision to remove the feeding tube 8 days ago. She wasn’t had any real meals for quite a while, but the last thing she had by mouth was a half container of apple sauce about 5/6 days ago.

Last night, about 12-18 hours ago she developed the rattle. We’ve had to suction 3-4 times since because she would choke on the secretions. Her urine output is very small, reddish brown. She has spent most of the past week completely unconscious unless we fully move her to clean her.

Right now her breath is relatively even, but each breath has a loud rattle. Her eyes are slightly open, but clouded and unfocused. Her skin is also mottled, hands and feet are swollen.

This is torture, I just want to see her peaceful.
