Non-PM asking: is the double entry between Slack and the tracker just accepted?

Discussion

Small company, no dedicated PM, so maybe I'm missing something.

A lot of work gets discussed in Slack, then someone has to copy the task into a project tracker. Same information twice, except the tracker usually loses most of the context.

Is this just how PM is supposed to work, or are there good ways to keep the actual work inside Slack?

I've been looking at Slack-native options like Pondros, which seem to remove some of that back-and-forth.

For people who actually manage projects, is the separate tracker still worth it?
