I want to create a Ride-sharing App where, instead of the process relying on supply and demand and pricing, it's fully automated using AI. For example: you're a regular taxi driver wanting to go to a specific point, but the system tells you there's another person heading in the same direction as you, not necessarily to the same exact destination, but you could at least get them closer to where they're going. The system determines where you pick up the passenger and where you drop them off, and the whole process is fully automatic, even the payment and everything. The overall goal of this system is to transport a larger number of people using the fewest possible trips, because with the naked eye alone, you can notice that most cars only have one or two passengers in them.
And in case the system notices another person on the way who wants to go to a different point, but you'd have to drop off the first passenger before the originally agreed-upon point, the system, after verifying there are no other trips available to the second passenger's destination, has you transport them as well, even if that means modifying the first passenger's trip. What's important to say here is that this type of Ride-sharing App aims to reduce the cost of the trip environmentally and economically, not necessarily your comfort, like getting you exactly to your doorstep. It's simply a service along the lines of "I'm going that way anyway, come along." And I believe a lot of people wouldn't mind transporting passengers as long as it doesn't affect their original trip, and it also makes them some money. I also don't think passengers would mind walking a little from a main street to their specific destination, like their front door or similar, or even taking a regular taxi from the main street to their home at the normal cost, or even using the system again to get closer to their destination if it's still far. That wouldn't be impossible in a busy city with a fully automated system running thousands of trips a day. And all of this is automatic, because the theory is: if you remove the human factor, solving the transportation problem, or really any problem, becomes very easy, especially ride-sharing. I mean, you just tell the system you want to go to a certain point, and the system has thousands of trips and thousands of passengers, it becomes self-evident that if you leave it to automation, this could really solve the transportation problem, not just provide a service.
