Checking for Blind Spots / Music Recommendations

Hi all. I count SUMAC among my favorite bands and I’m always looking for more bands and artists that explore the heavier side of music in a unique way. Every so often I’ll come across something new that scratches that itch, but much more frequently it’s the case that I find them years after their initial release, hence why I like to check my blind spots.

Setting aside the member's other projects, tour partners, and the more obvious and well known recommendations (Neurosis, ISIS, OMG, Khanate, Sunn O))), Harvey Milk, Big Brave, Moor Mother, The Body, ENDON, Russian Circles, Baptists, Erosion, etc) below I have shared some bands that I think my fellow SUMAC fans might also find interest in. I included an album to check out for each one but, aside from single-release bands, I also suggest exploring their respective discographies if you like what you’re hearing.

Please share some bands and albums that you think people might have missed out on, or deserve more attention.
