Inconsistency on communication preferences
Been on a couple of dates with someone recently...
On the first date, we discussed communication preferences and agreed neither of us are big texters. We both hate the good morning and good night texts and they explicitly said they'd prefer to just catch up in person rather than talking all day everyday, which I'm cool with. (I prefer phone calls once I know someone anyway and I'm very inconsistent with texting. Some days I'm very available/engaged, other days I cba).
On that basis, as soon as we agree the next date I've been trying to let the convo die out. As a result - they seem to ramp up their texts to keep things going.
It's still at a sustainable level for me but kinda weird as it doesn't quite align with what they originally said.
My friend said it was probably a power move on their behalf and I've pulled an Uno reverse card on them, but not sure I buy that.
I'm gonna ask them about it in person but wondered if anyone else has similar experiences or thoughts?
