My trigger food is...food
Drs are now pretty convinced I have EDS. My intestines are apparently just "weak" and dont like to move food well. Connective tissue in the area of my body is not strong enough and it's not something that can heal.
My diet from now will be a mix of the gastroparesis diet, low fodmap and low histamine :( Mostly soup and puree, perhaps baby food. Still no garlic in all the soups I will be eating. No plan for reintroduction of fodmap. For now at least I get to keep my favorite food, potatoes, if cooked until soft and with no seasoning, but my dietician did remind me I will have to eventually do an elimination to check for nightshade or for oxalate intolerance, both will involve cutting potatoes for a while. Kindly she is not making me do it yet.
It's all so overwhelming. Childhood of being forced onto one diet or another, vegetarian, vegan, keto, atkins, juice cleanse, whatever my parents thought was "Good" at the time. And then I got a few beautiful years of falling in love with food and developing a diverse diet...and now this. I had fallen in love with indian, mexican, breakfast dishes, all the ways you can make potatoes (POUTINE! it was the most wonderful thing). But my trigger food is just food. My body doesn't like having food in it or having to move food. I had been doing low fodmap for a month almost with no improvement and I now know why, it wasn't enough. I ate a very heavy fodmap "mourning meal" of Pizza and Chocolate and yes I'm suffering now but I needed it.
