Is Moving to London is it worth?

I'm thinking about medium-long term future not currently, mabye 5-10 years, so i know a lot can change by then, I I'm looking to work in politics, such as the civil services or with technology sector/IT, I'm currently living in northern England, so the cultural (not a bad thing at all) and especially financial different would be massive.
