Nonmobile Games Like Overgeared Hero?

I recently decided to try Overgeared Hero, a mobile item merging rpg type of game, and while I find the gameplay loop to be engaging, I hate the mobile game microtransaction nonsense of it all. Is there a similar game on PC or consoles, somewhat idle gameplay where the core engagement comes from building and merging items? Googling the same question just provided more mobile games.
