# "Every outcome is bound by a primary design; nothing occurs outside the framework of the law."

You stand at the threshold of a continuation. Whether you have walked the unyielding roads of the first chapter, or whether your path has brought you directly to this moment, your presence here is a matter of precise consequence, not coincidence.

The world often speaks of "luck," of "fortune," and of chaotic choices made in a vacuum. But as **The Scroll** continues to unroll, those superficial myths disintegrate. You are entering a landscape governed by absolute structure.

Every crossroads you face, every battle you endure, and every word you speak is weighted with non-casual significance. Your decisions are entirely real, yet they function as the precise, worldly instruments through which an underlying, unalterable path is perfectly executed. You do not operate in a vacuum of random chance; you operate within an intentional, ordered system where every cause has its preordained effect.

No matter where your journey begins, the past has already been woven into your foundation, and your character has been structured for the challenges ahead. The continuity of The Scroll remains unbroken!

The Scroll has been written, the laws of the world are set, and the grand plan is in play.

📜 **The Scroll Campaign: Module 2** ***Predestinated Days*** **Launches October 1st!** ⚔️

Greetings, travellers!

After years of dedicated building, scripting, and polishing within the Electron Toolset, I am thrilled to announce that **Module 2: Predestinated Days** is officially launching on **1st October 2026**!

*The Scroll* is a traditional, grand-scale D&D story set within my own custom campaign world, the World of Althéa. If you are tired of streamlined, modern casual games that play themselves, this campaign is built specifically for you. It is a text-rich, mechanics-heavy, "maximalist" cRPG simulation engineered for both **Single Player** and **True Cooperative Multiplayer** from the ground up.

📊 **The Campaign by the Numbers (Based on the toolset's own figures.)**

To give you an idea of the sheer scale of the toolset data powering this combined duology:

* **9.6 / 10 Vault Rating:** Championed by the traditional community as a highly rewarding, old-school adventure.
* **631,253 Total Words:** A titanic literary footprint. The campaign script is longer than the entire *Lord of the Rings* trilogy or the script of *The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt*.
* **418,089 Words of Branching Dialogue:** Built for extreme story reactivity. Your choices carry permanent weight, companions react dynamically, and every major path alters the world's thread.
* **158,948 Words of Blueprint Descriptions:** True worldbuilding. You won't find generic, copy-pasted assets here. Almost every unique item, custom monster, and placeable object features hand-crafted lore flavor text.
* **40+ Hours of Gameplay:** Module 1 alone represents a massive 30 to 50-hour traditional D&D experience—and Module 2 greatly expands upon that foundation!

⚙️ **Behind the Engine: Advanced Systems & Custom Mechanics**

*The Scroll* does not use basic, default engine shortcuts. To accurately replicate the tactical gravity of standard Pen-and-Paper D&D (v3.5 rulesets), several custom, highly engineered mechanics have been coded into the campaign:

* **Tactical Round Control (Optional Turn-Based Combat):** Toggling the hotbar **Circle Icon** green activates an automated, round-based turn engine. The game automatically pauses every 6 seconds (one full D&D round) upon sensing an enemy. **CRITICAL NOTE:** This entire system is **100% optional**. If you prefer traditional cRPG manual pause-and-play, simply leave the icon red and play exactly like the standard base game!
* **Tactical Micro-Steps:** When utilizing the Turn-Based engine, players can use the *Show Info* box to micro-manage time, advancing the battlefield in exact **0.1 and 0.5-second unpaused step increments** for flawless tactical execution.
* **True Puppet Mode & Target GUI:** Double right-clicking a companion portrait strips away automated AI. A custom **Target GUI** will dynamically track and display your manually queued party actions side-by-side. You can close this menu instantly at any time by pressing **ESCAPE**.
* **The Time-Warp Calendar:** To create a living world, 15 minutes of real playtime equals 1 hour of game time. Long-duration spells utilize a **Time-Warp formula** that mathematically scales remaining durations and automatically shifts text displays to give real-world minute countdowns.
* **The "Real Life" Reaction Engine:** The world watches your actions. Attempting to picklock chests or smash doors within an NPC's line of sight will cause them to **actively block you and call for aid**. Vandalism triggers localized party alignment shifts and can turn town guards hostile.
* **The De-escalation "Sorry" Feat:** Accidentally hit the wrong NPC? The campaign includes a unique **Sorry Feat** (30-second cooldown) that lets your party stand down, restore the peace, and return accidental hostiles to full health.
* **Gold Weight Realism & Auto-Sorting Inventories:** Wealth has mass; gold weighs **50 coins to a single pound**. To alleviate clutter, special bags can be bought that **automatically sort and filter your items** (keys, alchemy ingredients, crafting components, and gems) upon pickup.
* **Hardcore Survival & Rebirth:** Rest is restricted by safety, time, and food rations. Characters slowly lose *Vigour* over time, inducing attribute decay if they go unfed. If a companion falls unprotected in battle, **a physical tombstone holding their gear is spawned**. If you abandon their body item in the area, they are dead for good! **CRITICAL** **NOTE**: An alternative regain consciousness after combat option is also available as long as it is not a party wipeout.

🛡️ **A Note on Project Scale & Community Bug Fixing**

Building a project of this unprecedented, titanic scale inside the notoriously temperamental *Neverwinter Nights 2* engine is an ongoing labor of love. Because *The Scroll* updates, alters, and fixes so many legacy engine boundaries, **the campaign will inevitably be subject to potential minor bugs or script anomalies.**

As a solo developer, my absolute ethos is **unrelenting post-launch support**. I actively monitor the community, and any bugs reported by players are addressed and patched out via campaign file updates as soon as they are found. Best of all, my custom patching architecture is engineered at the Campaign level—meaning **installing a patch will NEVER break your active saved games**.

🛠️ **Built for the Enhanced Edition**

The lead-up to the October 1st launch has been spent running rigorous optimization sweeps. Both modules feature updated custom hak files that completely resolve legacy tileset rendering errors when running on the modern **NWN2 Enhanced Edition**.

❓ **Is This Campaign For You?**

* **YES, if:** You love classic manual-era RPGs, appreciate deep lore reading, want heavy strategic combat control, and love solving intricate custom puzzles.
* **NO, if:** You are looking for a casual, streamlined, click-and-forget hack-and-slash action game. *The Scroll* is a hardcore, traditional cRPG experience that requires your own active thinking and party preparation.

🛠️ **How to Help: Bug Reporting & Community Feedback Guidelines**

Because *The Scroll* is a massive project running on a highly customized architecture, community feedback is the lifeblood of our post-launch polish passes. If you encounter an anomaly, a puzzle formatting issue, or an environmental bug, please **do not leave a vague comment**.

To help me track down the script and crush the bug immediately, please drop a note in our official [**Althéa Campaign Updates & Releases Forum Thread**](https://forum.neverwintervault.org/t/the-althea-campaign-the-scroll-updates-releases-thread/7036) with the following quick details:

1. **Your Setup:** Are you playing on the original *NWN2* client or the *Enhanced Edition*?
2. **Game Mode:** Are you playing Solo (Single Player) or running a Co-op Multiplayer session?
3. **Location & Context:** What is the name of the map area, and what were you attempting to do when the issue occurred (e.g., entering a conversation, bashing a door, opening a puzzle GUI)?
4. **Party Details:** Which character class or companion was active or being controlled at the time?
5. **Screen Resolution:** (Mainly for custom puzzle GUIs) What resolution is your monitor set to?

Your feedback ensures *The Scroll* stays pristine and optimized for every player in our community. If you have any comments, ideas, or structural suggestions as you explore Module 2, please let me know—I look forward to hearing your thoughts and guiding you through Althéa!
