Where should I begin? I am a crocheter interested in knitting, and would love to make socks.

As the title says. I’ve been crocheting for a while, and have gotten pretty good at it. Recently I have started to get into knitting, and I’ve been practicing some stitches and knitting flat, in the round and magic circle. I want to finally attempt to tackle a real project.

One reason I’ve been trying knitting is that I would love to make my own socks. What kind of yarn should I use? Any patterns you would recommend? Any tips for a newbie?
