If Israel's actions are being harshly criticized, why isn't Palestine's attack on Israel on October 7th, 2023 receiving similar criticism outside of pro-Israel circles?

I've seen so many people condemning Israel for the rest of the war in Gaza, but Hamas killing and injuring innocent Israeli civilians on a Jewish holiday ignored. It seems extremely hypocritical and even disingenuous to say that Israel did this blindly. And I'm not saying Israel's later actions are justified, but how was this unprovoked attack justified because of later actions? Can someone explain?
