Anyone else notice the crazy traffic on 59 lately?

Seriously, what is going on with US-59 Southbound lately? I feel like for the past few weeks, the commute between Sugar Land and the Galleria area (or anywhere further into Houston) has been absolutely brutal, even outside of typical rush hour times.

It used to be bad, but now it feels like standstill traffic is becoming the norm at like, 7 PM on a Wednesday. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this increase in congestion? Any idea what might be causing it? Road construction I'm missing, or just more people moving to the area and cramming onto the same highway? It's making my drive home a total nightmare.
