How to tell if you’re feeding a cat or a possum?
I’m not sure if this is the right sub, but I’ve noticed a few cats hanging around the neighborhood so I thought it would be fine to leave out some dry kibble for them. But I recently saw a video where a girl thought she was feeding a cat but turns out to be a possum?
The food disappears around the same time every night, like 9 to 10pm. I leave it on a metal bench outside of my house, about a feet off the ground. Now, I’ve never actually seen the cat, I just know the food disappears. My Ring camera doesn’t pick up animals for some reason and doesn’t constantly record either, but it faces the food bowl so I can periodically check on it.
Typically I wouldn’t really think about a possum eating it, but I used to get off work around 10pm ish, and like every once in a while, there was just a possum.
So, how can you tell if you’re actually feeding a cat and what can you do to prevent a possum actually eating the food? I’m terrified of possums, and not interested in
keeping them around.
