Looking for a slow burn mystery series that doesn't rely on constant cliffhangers to keep you hooked

I've noticed a lot of newer mystery shows lean heavily on shock twists every episode, but I miss the kind that builds tension patiently instead. Any recommendations that trust the story to hold interest on its own?
