(Eastern Pennsylvania, USA) Hi, three months ago I moved into an apartment. On move in, I found two dead small bugs. I showed a picture to the property manager and maintenance ID’d it as a cricket, but I was terrified it was a roach so they put down some powder under the fridge. I hadn’t seen anything since. The apartments are also new (build 2 years ago), the previous tenant was very clean according to PM, I am very clean, and the PM stated that they have never had any issue with roaches thankfully. However, in the past two weeks I have seen two more of these bugs alive and near the kitchen sink. After some thorough research I am pretty confident in my ID as a Pennsylvania wood roach. I will attach a picture below in case anyone disagrees with my ID (as I have no experience with this). It seems to match with the ID photo I found here on reddit, as does the last one I killed + the two dead ones I found when moving in.

My apartment is open air entryway and I live on the top floor, but it is right next to a wooded area with train tracks. So I’m pretty sure they’re coming from that woods area. My question is - is there anything I can do as a tenant to stop them from coming in? Or do I just need to wait for the season to be over (which is soon)? There’s no leaves or wood near any entrances to my unit, and I don’t exactly have the option to go around sealing stuff as a tenant. Are there any sprays I could put around the door? The kitchen is next to the front door. Would putting a cover over the kitchen sink hole help when I’m not using it? I wasn’t sure if they can come up through the drain. I am absolutely terrified of all bugs so I’d prefer to get rid of them than having to smush them. But everything I’ve read seems to not mention any treatments. Just wondering if there’s anything I could do!

Any treatments for PA wood roaches in apartment?
