Issues playing R.E.P.O on Bazzite?

So recently I switched from Windows 10 to Bazzite and I have noticed that for some reason in repo when I host my own lobbies most of my friends can join when I invite them. However there are these two friends that when I invite them start joining and then get a Client Timeout error and cannot join the lobby I tried reinstalling repo and switching proton versions along with disabling the steam overlay in settings since i heard this could fix it but they keep getting the error when they try to join my lobbies. However when I invite them to a public lobby that I am not hosting they are able to join without any problems would anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this and would it be on my end or their end?
