The Rain
The mountain yearns for the ocean. From mist-covered meadows to fog-hidden peaks, she falls everywhere. The ocean, deep and ancient, reaches the mountains with her rain. Her tears, a soft fog in a high field. Her anger, a torrential downpour on open cliffs.
The mountain feels her everywhere. He never forgets what it feels like to wipe the tears from her face, to hear her sorrow in the clouds.
The distant ocean wonders if the mountain feels her touch. She couldn’t know he experiences it every day.
In a clearing, on a green hill, high in the mountains, the rain falls softly. Somewhere beyond the horizon, the ocean touches the mountain still.
