Graduate on PGWP considering New Brunswick for PR
Hi everyone, I am currently on a PGWP with 18 months left, with a CRS score of around 439. I have been trying to find a TEER 0β3 job in Ontario for more than a year without success.
My background is in software development, but I have also been working in security for the past 3 years.
I am considering moving to New Brunswick and targeting the Francophone Workers in New Brunswick pathway while working toward B1 French. My understanding is that it requires 6 months of residency in NB and a full-time job with an eligible employer.
I am also wondering whether, if PR does not work out, having B1/NCLC 5 French could give me any options for a work permit extension later on.
For anyone familiar with NB immigration:
- Is this a realistic PR strategy for someone in my situation?
- Which cities/areas in NB would you recommend for finding work and pursuing this pathway?
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through a similar process, especially PGWP holders or people who moved to NB for PR. ππ
