Therapy associates and schedules.

Billing / Finance / Insurance

Hi all! I work as a therapist and supervisor for a community mental health agency. Like a lot of places, we are struggling financially. Our therapists are expected to have a full schedule of around 26 sessions per week. Those full time clinicians are salaried and with benefits, get lots of training and supervision, etc. For a host of reasons, schedules are not full, and the urgency to fill them is not there because people are busy and the pay is the same anyway. I realize the many issues in our field, I know it's a lot of sessions and also that this is typical for this kind of job. As we are trying to stay open and able to serve clients and keep jobs for people, that's the focus currently.

While other issues around intake and referrals are being dealt with, I'm trying to think of ways therapists can be encouraged to keep their schedules full in this kind of group practice/ agency scenario. I have heard all sorts of things to encourage salaried therapists to keep their schedules full. Curious what ideas are out there.

Thanks!
