When do you give up on a supplier photo and just reshoot it?
I’m working through a few Amazon UK listings where the supplier photos are technically usable, but they just don’t feel good enough.
Nothing is completely broken. It’s more a combination of things like strange white balance, heavy shadows, awkward crops, soft edges and messy backgrounds.
For products that haven’t proven themselves yet, organising a proper shoot for every SKU feels difficult to justify.
I’ve been using pixpix to clean up some of the better source images and test a few different scenes, but there’s obviously a point where you’re just trying to rescue something that should have been photographed again.
For sellers here, what problems do you normally consider fixable?
Would you keep working with an image if the actual product details are sharp and accurate, or do poor lighting and composition make you reshoot anyway?
I’m especially curious where people draw the line for the main Amazon image compared with secondary or lifestyle images.
