Skin Bacteria Infection
⚠️VIEWER DISCRETION ⚠️
This post is might be a little long but please we are desperate for knowledge & help. Our French bulldog is 5 years old and he has never had any problems. Well one day his hair on his back started to stick up a little bit and it was a little bump sorta looked like an inflamed hair follicle. Maybe a week or 2 after we noticed my MIL took him to the vet and they prescribed him Enrofloxaxin, Cytopoint, Clavamox, Penicillin, Presidone & did a culture swap test. The culture came back with 3 different bacteria (4+ growths)…. Enterococcus faecalis, Psuedomonas aeruguisoa, and Enterbacter hormaechei . We already went to 3 different vets. They all suggest biopsy but my MIL is a little iffy on that bc she has read some dogs don’t wake up from the anesthesia. So he has had I think 5 shots of the cytopoint every 48 hours. We stopped yesterday on taking him bc her breeder suggests we take him to her vet who specializes in bulldogs. The vet said they have never seen anything like it. He prescribed us the same medication has the first vet and told us to give it to him for 3 weeks. The first time it was only given for 7 days. My MIL says he looked a bit better when she was giving it to him. The recent vet we saw today said the meds that we are giving him are resistant to the bacteria that he has. And basically there is nothing we can do for him and in 3 weeks if there is no improvement then we will have a very hard conversation (putting him to sleep) BUT he did recommend and referred us to a vet dermatologist. They look like lesions and smell so bad. He has one under his neck and looks like an open gash. The vets we been seeing suck! They don’t even really examine him they just look real quick and done we want someone to really really look at him! Anyone please help!!! 😭 he’s only 5 and our best friend
